The 2024 World New Energy Vehicle Congress was held from September 27 to 29 in Haikou, Hainan. Guests rode hydrogen fuel cell cars between the airport and the conference venue.

The official vehicle was the Haima 7X-H. It was praised for stable performance and comfort. Haima’s hydrogen cars had already appeared at events like the Boao Forum for Asia.

In June 2024, the first batch of Haima 7X-H cars reached 6,500 kilometers. This exceeded Hainan’s demonstration project goals. Haima’s General Manager, Lu Guogang, said the second phase is now in progress. Fifty Haima 7X-H cars are being tested. Ride-hailing cars have driven 10,000 kilometers, while rental cars have covered over 6,000 kilometers.

Haima’s progress reflects China’s efforts in new energy vehicles. China aims to lead global low-carbon transitions. The country has long focused on sustainability and fighting climate change.

China is also a top manufacturer of new energy vehicles. It promotes global cooperation in the supply chain. From January to August 2024, China sold 7.037 million new energy vehicles. This was a 30.9% increase. For three months, NEV market share was over 50%.

Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said global NEV sales surpassed 10 million this year. They accounted for 18% of total vehicle sales. He credited this to global cooperation and industry innovation.

China’s NEV growth meets global demand for quality products. It also supports the shift to electric vehicles and helps fight climate change.

Wan Gang, President of the China Association for Science and Technology, stressed the need for international cooperation. He said this is key to overcoming challenges in the NEV market. Xu Yingming, Director of the Green Trade Center, said China will work with partners to drive NEV development and build a cleaner world.
